Thinking about the rear SA and testing the structures the old school way, make a model from balsa and see how much it flexes this is a really good exercise for gaining an understanding of structures, as you can feel exactly how much difference each tube makes.

i like the fea on the cheap.i read somewhere about building the structures from wire and soldering them together,for testing purposes.i guess that any material would work as you are just comparing strength changes.good progress!
